Documentation & support
How our documentation is organised, how licence keys work, the questions we are asked most, and exactly how to reach a person. Every product carries a guide built to the same four-part shape, so knowing one means knowing all of them.
Guides
Getting started
Each product carries its own getting-started guide, and every one of them follows this structure:
Requirements
Supported WordPress and PHP versions, and any companion plugins (for template kits, the free Elementor plugin).
Installation
Installing the theme or plugin from your WordPress dashboard or by upload, and activating your Pro licence key where applicable.
First-run setup
Importing starter content or templates, setting global colours and typography, and laying out your first page.
Going further
Customisation recipes, recommended settings and upgrade notes.
Every guide documents two ways of activating a paid product. Pasting the key into the WordPress dashboard suits most sites. A site deployed from version control can instead set the same key as a constant, so the licence travels with the deployment rather than with the database:
// wp-config.php define( 'THEME_CANVAS_LICENCE', 'TC-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX' );
Keys are issued per purchase, and either route activates the same licence.
Reading before deciding: if you want a product's guide in front of you before you commit to anything, ask for it by email and we will send it. We would rather you read the documentation first and find out then that a product is wrong for you.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How do I see a theme running on my own content?
Ask us for a walkthrough. Send a page you already have — your words, your images, your awkward long headline — to team@themecanvas.uk, and we will take you through how it sits on the canvas: which blocks carry it, how the headline behaves at 375px, and what you would want to change.
Is there a free edition?
Yes, where a product suits one. The free edition is GPL-licensed and installable on unlimited sites. The Pro edition adds features and includes 1 year of updates and email support.
What does a Pro licence include?
One year of updates and support from the date of purchase. After that year the software keeps working; renewing extends updates and support. Each product carries its own licence terms, and those sit under our Terms of Use.
Do your themes require Elementor Pro or other paid plugins?
No. Our block themes need only WordPress itself, and our Elementor template kits run on the free Elementor plugin.
Can I use one licence on multiple sites?
Free GPL editions: unlimited sites. Pro licences come in single-site and multi-site tiers, and which tier you hold is stated in the product's own licence terms — simple, and worded so you can tell without a lawyer.
What's your refund policy?
Support-first: if something doesn't work, we'll try to fix it quickly — and if we can't make the product work for you within 14 days of purchase, we'll refund it. Your statutory rights as a UK/EU consumer are unaffected. See the Refunds section of our Terms.
Do you offer custom development?
Yes — custom themes, plugins, business websites and WooCommerce builds. See our Services page for the process and indicative timelines.
Support
Support
Email: team@themecanvas.uk
Turnaround. Support mail is answered inside one working day, Monday to Friday, UK time. Tell us your WordPress and PHP versions, what you expected to see, and what appeared instead. Those three lines usually remove an entire round trip.
The same address serves as the support contact for any mobile application we publish on the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Changelog
Every product keeps a public, dated changelog here — versions, fixes and breaking-change warnings in plain English.
How we handle breaking changes: anything that could alter how your site renders is flagged in the entry that carries it, with the version number and what to check, so you read the warning before you press update rather than afterwards.
